Bee hotel
Next to the extensive urbanisation, there are 83 nature reserves in Utrecht Region. More biodiversity-stimulating greenery is also created, such as tiny forests, green-roofed bus shelters and a bee hotel. This bee hotel is situated around an advertising mast along the highway and consists of more than 200 nesting boxes for wild bees and butterflies. These are beautiful examples of how to incorporate greenery in and around urbanised cities.
